What Is Platelet-Rich Fibrin and How Does It Work?
Platelet-rich fibrin (PFR) contains a natural, soluble clotting protein that helps stimulate healing and encourages the body to build healthier tissue. In preparation, blood is drawn from a patient and centrifuged to become a gel, rich in fibrin, stem cells, and white blood cells which are then injected back into the skin to rejuvenate facial tissue and reinvigorate previously inactive hair follicles for hair regrowth. PRF also provides an ideal environment for healing post-treatment, as skin cells respond positively to its effects. Additionally, PRF contains no additives or chemicals, attributing to a more holistic and natural approach to skin rejuvenation and hair restoration!
Hair Restoration
To encourage hair growth, PRF is applied topically to the affected area of the scalp through a series of shallow injections. After the treatment, you are free to go about your day as usual. The platelet-rich fibrin will then get to work by reinvigorating hair follicles and encouraging them to begin regrowing hair. Noticeable results may take up to three months.
